Re: Intel NUC7i3bnh HDR support

Reboot Yocto Linux affects output pins

Hi,

I am using Edison board running the official latest Yocto Linux to control a relay. The Edison board is plugged into an Arduino board with a shield board, and the relay is plugged into D4 port. With the help of mraa library I can simply set output pin to high and low to turn on and off the relay. My problem is, when I reboot the linux system, the relay will be turned on during shutting down and startup procedure. I tried to change the relay connector to other ports and found out that if I connect it to D2, D3 or D5 - D8, the relay will not be affected by rebooting system while D4 and I2C ports are not usable, they will output high when startup finishes which will trigger the relay. Even though I can choose another port e.g. D8 that would not affect the relay, I still wonder how I can make those ports not affect normal devices such as a relay? Could anyone give me some hints or clues to find the answer?

Powerdvd HDR Audio solution

Hi my fellow NUC friends,

I have finally solved the problem with Audio in HDR mode with Powerdvd ultra 17. If you read my previous post you can see that I had audio during the .4664 gfx driver but not with the 4771. When Windows got the fall update and Powerdvd also came with an update, I lost my audio. After that I did not use my NUC so much.

Today I was googeling and found this thread:

https://membership.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/63950.page;jsessionid=BF5F8A367CA3008F83D9A8FFF91F6061#291871

By using the procedure I got my sound back

during HDR mode. Finally!!! I need to mention, I did a full reinstallation of Powerdvd before i did this.

The directory map is wrong in the link. You need to copy the CLADR-file to this directory:

C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDVD17\Common\AudioFilter

Seems like Intel and Cyberlink are not working togheter on solving this problem. Maybe there is some thread I have not found yet. But since it seems like I am the first to distribute the solution Cyberlink have now about quite a while, I expect Intel will send me a christmas gift. Not only for the solution, but for having a faulty product for almost 9 months. cvare

Ps. I did not get the side affects with the volume.

Didier,

I wish there was a simple fix for this issue, but the fact is, Windows 10 is not supported on this platform. Microsoft's compatibility driver Provides Support for older platforms You can try Installing Intel's latest Ethernet Driver Package release (available here: Download Intel® Gigabit Ethernet Network Connection Driver for Windows® 10 ), but it may not be able to fix this issue. Your best bet might be adding a PCIe network adapter that is supported by Windows 10.

Hope this helps,

Re: Bootable VROC RAID of 3rd pary M2 SSDs on x299 MB/ i9-7980XE set up and key options

Luis,

Thank you for your support! You have been very responsive and helpful to me in understanding VROC/X299.

I believe I now understand how VROC is implemented on the X299 platform and that Intel by choice (not by technological limitations) fundamentally restricted VROC on X299 to Intel only SSDs as opposed to on the Xenon platform that allows 3rd party SSD (with the right key of course).

Sitting here in the middle of my build project, I would like to offer this feedback to intel:

By not stating clearly what VROC on X299 is and is not in yours and your partners' VROC/X299 MB marketing material up front (for instance ASUS have been advertising VROC/X299 aggressively "hiding" the intel SSD restriction deep down in some foot note in a manual - but that is ASUS fault not Intel's), you are confusing the market, misleading the consumer (not every one ask VROC/key questions before they buy like I do, but trusts the marketing material), crippling the performance and value of the X299 platform. I can only assume it is to provide more differentiation and value for the Xeon platform.

This would be a resonable and even acceptable (at least to me) approach if intel had a competitive VROC-able SSD product in terms of performance, redundancy, size at a resonable cost. The available VROC-able Intel SSD options are just not good enough to compete with the likes of Samsungs SM961, 960 Pro etc. (performance and size). As it is now, I just cannot bring myself to put several 6000p or 600p or any other VROC-able SSD product Intel offers in this system (the intel options are either fast or large but never both).

I just cannot to do it.

Instead I will likely use several SM960 Pro 2TB un-raided or in S/W raid configuration the best I can avoiding the VROC key option all together. I believe from the test I have seen this configuration will still perform (speed, redundancy, manageability) better than VROC with the available intel drives.

This is disappointing and sad. Intel have created a phenomenal and super exciting platform with the X299 and the Intel i9-7980XE 18 core CPU! But by not allowing VROC to be used to its full potential you are crippling the CPU's and the platform's potential, disappointing enthusiast builders.

As I wrote before, I do not mind buying any necessary key and spend a few hundred bucks for that if necessary to allow me to use the best SSDs available in the market - 3rd party or Intel. But I will not spend $2K-$4K more to go with a Xeon build instead.

May I humbly suggest that Intel reconsider the VROC decision and allow a premium key (like VROCPREMMOD or what ever key) to enable VROC with 3rd party consumer SSDs on the X299.
I really do think it will help your CPU, X299 sales, increase consumer enthusiasm and help Intel to compete with AMD's "VROC" (NVMe RAID) option.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 upload issue

Hello

Every time I try to upload anything anywhere using my wireless connection it fails to upload and my internet connection goes down. I tried to troubleshoot it using windows 10 but it says the connection is good. I cannot even connect to any website using chrome or IE after I try to upload anything. I remove the driver and followed the instruction in Clean Installation of Wireless Drivers and i still have issues. I think the issue is the ZeroConfigService.exe but reinstalling the driver and the software should resolve this problem but that's not the case for me. Even when I try to speed test my connection using Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test , when it gets to upload section it stays at 0 and my connection goes down and windows 10 cannot find any issues. I tried to use windows 10 driver for the wireless card instead of the intel one and still no luck. If I don't upload anything it works fine. Sometimes when I use the speedtest.net the upload works the first time but if I test it again, straight away, as soon as it gets to upload it stops working. I don't have any issues when I connect my laptop using the wired connection and I don't have any issues with any other device.I had Malwarebytes installed and I thought that was the issue so I removed it but it didn't fix the problem.

I would appreciate any suggestion to solve this annoying issue.

Thank you

What's the significance of doing the copying while booted from the installation media?

I tried this without booting from the installation media, and it just prevents the driver from loading due to something about the driver not being signed. (Incidentally, this does make videos work.)

HD630 Slow Wake from Sleep

Recently my Laptop (Dell 7567) starting having an issue in which it would take a long time to wake up from Sleep (Windows 10).
The power button would turn on as would the backlight from the keyboard but I just got a black screen that could last anywhere from 20 seconds up to a minute.

After some online research I decided to try to roll back the drivers on my HD630 to the previous version and it instantly solved the issue. I tried reinstalling the newest drivers but it only made the problem come back.

Anyone experiencing similar issues? Is there some fix?. I like to keep my computers up to date but as someone who mainly uses Sleep mode (almost never turn off the Laptop) I will have to continue using the old HD630 drivers for now.

Thanks

yes that puget article was one of my sources , Strob.

You should only AVX offset for temperature reasons and not BSOD's. I think you should raise your vcore voltage a bit. What freqs are you on?? Mine cant get past 4.7GHZ without delidding. And i have an AVX offset only for AVX512

Why did you set only avx512 (what's the difference between both avx?)

Here is what my frequencies look when I am rendering. I find weird that not all my core seems to be affected by turbo.I set those settings:

OC\Mail Box Configuration\Processor

Core Max OC ratio 80

OC\CPU Power Management Configuration

Turbo Modo Enabled

Long duration power limit: 240

Long duration power limit: 1

Short duration power limit: 250

Short duration power limit: 1

Core Ratio Limit 1: 42

Core count number: 18

OC\Overvoltage

vccin voltage: 1830

memory voltage: 1200

And both avx offset to 5

Re: NUC6CAYH screen turns black for a second

Well, the situation is, I need to have 4 of these ready for install at a new site, the problem with the video flashing is unacceptable (and with little to no improvement in speed over the basic driver), I decided to write a inf file to utilize the basic driver as the default one.

The issue then I had was with the Realtek Audio driver, refused to work, the High Definition Audio Device wasn't working (couldn't start), so I used the driver (forced install, it said it wasn't written for it) from 7982_PG453_Win10_TH_RS_Win8.1_Win8_Win7_WHQL\IntelHDASST\HDAudioBusDrv, upon reboot, it started installing 3 devices, one being the Realtek High Defintion Audio device (in sound, works), also installed 2 High Definition Audio Devices (after pointing it to the root directory of 7982_PG453_Win10_TH_RS_Win8.1_Win8_Win7_WHQL), but left Intel High Definition DSP with a bang on it.  I then made a .nif to install it without a driver (as that one is part of the display adapter for the HDMI audio).

Everything works except HDMI audio, no screen flashing, HDMI does not seem to autosense new connections (only on restart, though could be the fact I had it plugged into the same monitor), but that isn't an issue in most cases.  The basic driver doesn't seem to recognize PnP monitors, so my monitor is again showing as a Generic Non-PnP Monitor (which could be right, it is old, the false positive could have been the Intel driver which did recognize the monitor by name and model in it's configuration like yours above, but the display settings unlike yours above said 64Hz outside the Intel settings, the info on the monitor's menu display said 60Hz).

So, if the performance boost (if any) from the Intel graphics drivers over the stock windows fallback driver isn't an issue, then use it instead and if the audio complaint comes up about the DSP being not present, then I can email you the .nif files.  The Device Manager looks as follows:

Re: 15.46 breaks YCbCr on DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0

I have this exact same issue. After installing Windows 10 today, I was trying to get full RGB range on my TV, but I was missing the option in the Intel Graphics Settings. I also noticed when setting YCbCr on my screen I lost my signal to my TV. I knew it wasn't a hardware problem, because under Linux everything was working fine.

I also have my TV connected with a Displayport 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapter, the Club3D CAC-1070, to get 3840x2160 at 60 Hz. I'm using a Pentium G4600 with an Asus H710I Pro motherboard. When I connect my TV directly to the HDMI port on my motherboard everything works fine, and I have the Full RGB option again, but not with the Displayport-> HDMI adapter.

Luckily I found this thread. After downgrading to the driver version jun1us linked everything is working as it should. I noticed the older driver identifies my TV as an actual "Digital Television". With the newer driver the name of my TV in the Intel Graphics Settings was just my TV model, but with the older driver it says "Digital Television" before my TV model.

If there is more information I can provide to get this problem solved please let me know.

Let us make sure we are using the same language: Flickering is an effect that happens constantly. Having a black screen appear for a moment from time to time is NOT flickering. So, what are you seeing?

OMG! Intel Integrator Assistant is an absolutely ANCIENTproduct that was designed to support Intel's old Desktop Board products. It is NOT designed to support the NUCs. Do not attempt to use it.

I change the splash screen with ITK all the time and it never asks for any .BIN file. You are doing something wrong. What are the commands that you have entered?

Hi Thank you very much for contacting the Intel® Graphics communities. We will do our best in order to try to provide the information you are looking for.

In regard to your inquiry, yes, the processor supports VP9 decoding with 1080p resolution at 30Hz. Please verify the link below to confirm that information, pages 17,21,117 and 130:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/atom/atom-z8000-datasheet-vol-1.html

In reference to the question about the graphics driver, we recommend to install the latest one available for your product, and the codec will depend on the application being used, since some of them request to install an specific codec to work properly.

Any further questions, please let me know.

SR300 Camera Windows Hello working 50% of the time

Hey,

After updating to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update version 16299, Windows Hello with my SR300 camera (BlasterX Senz3d) has stopped working normally. Everything worked fine before the update.

When presented with the Windows login screen, sometimes when Windows tries to activate the camera, it just says "Couldn't activate the camera". Sometimes it works fine. It seems Windows is unable to activate the camera after a remote session or a long local session, but the results are quite random.

When looking at the Device Manager under Imaging Devices, the Depth and Virtual Driver are listed. A hidden Virtual Driver (greyed out) is also listed. The RGB driver is listed under camera.

I've tried a lot of different things. I have tried:

  • Reinstalling drivers
  • Removing drivers and re plugging in camera
  • Every on board USB ports
  • Updating motherboard USB controllers
  • Using a different USB 3.0 cable
  • Plugging camera in a powered USB 3.0 hub
  • Using camera on another computer (didn't work)

I've contacted Creative, but they were unable to fix my problem.

Is there a hardware issue with my camera?

Is this error the consequence of my AMD FX-8350 CPU?

Are there any logs tied to this issue?

Thanks for the support!
